Book Hill International

Book Hill International is a publishing house based in England. It is the UK affiliate of Book Hill Publication in Nepal.

Book Hill International aims to promote Nepali literature and raise the visibility of Nepali publications worldwide. Apart from bringing out more of Book Hill publications in English, we are also publishing our books as eBooks and audiobooks on our platform.

Sustainability is at the heart of what we do at Book Hill International. We are committed to be climate positive and we use digital print solutions to bring out our books for worldwide distribution.


Our Team

Dr. Sangita Swechcha, Founder and Editor



Dr. Sangita Swechcha is the Founder of Book Hill Int'l. She has a PhD in Enviromental Communication from the University of Surrey and has more than 15 years' experience of working with various international organisations with a focus on communications and media relations. An ardent lover of literature from an early age, Sangita has published a novel and co-authored a collection of short stories before the collection 'Gulafsanga ko Prem'. She has many short stories, poems and articles published in various international journals and online portals. She was the Guest Editor for the 'Nepali Literature Month - Nov 2019' held at Global Literature in Libraries Initiative (GLLI), a USA based organisation.

Book Hill Publication, Co-Founding Partner


Book Hill, a trusted name for literary publications, is one of the leading publishing houses in Nepal. The publication house hosts a team consisting of founders as well as a family of over hundred contributors that include its writers, editors, translators, designers, and artists. Currently, Bhupendra Khadka leads Book Hill Publication in Nepal.


P. Singh, Software Engineer, Technical Lead



P. Singh is the creator of the Book Hill Int'l website. He has more than 20 years' experience in developing software on various platforms. Apart from his experience of working as the Senior System Analyst at AIG in the UK for 13 years, he has also developed various popular software in Nepal that include Nepali typing tutor 'Typeshala', Nepali Unicode, Thamel.com and a road engineering software 'Rajmarg'.

P. Singh is also an artist who primarily paints in acrylic and watercolour mediums. His artworks reflect his passion for landscapes, antique buildings and portraits.

Andrée Roby, Editor



Andrée Roby is the Editor at Book Hill Int'l. After spending over thirty five years in South London, Régine, originally from France, now lives in West Sussex. She writes under the pen name of Andrée Roby, a name she chose as a tribute to her father (André) and her uncle (Roby). Régine is fluent in French, Spanish and English. She has been teaching languages privately for 25 years and taught languages for nine years in a secondary school. As a language teacher, she has a passion for the written word. Her novella "Double Vision" - a creative crime drama, was published in January 2019. Her second book published in April 2020 is a collection of original poems, flash fiction and short stories. Her latest book "Failed Vision", launched in October 2020, is the prequel to her first novella.

Dr Sian Harris, Editor



Dr Sian Harris is an Editor at Book Hill Int'l. She has a PhD in inorganic chemistry from the University of Bristol and has more than 20 years' experience in editing scholarly publications. A Communications Specialist at INASP, an Oxford-based international organisation, she is also a regular contributor to the Scholarly Kitchen blog. Sian was the Editor of Research Information magazine for over a decade as well as a writer and editor on several science and technology publications and other publications at the Institute of Physics Publishing and other publishers. She has spoken widely at conferences in the publishing sector, including several times at the London Book Fair and Frankfurt Book Fair.

Micaela Grove, Publishing Assistant



Micaela Grove is a Master's graduate with distinction in Conservation Biology from Kent University, UK. She likes to indulge in literary books and also has experience of editing/proofreading novels & designing covers for fiction books in the UK.

Her hobbies include photography/painting and pencil drawing. She also loves scuba diving and gets involved in international Marine Conservation projects.

Karen Van Drie, Advisor



Karen Van Drie is the Global Librarian and the Director of Global Literature in Libraries Initiative (GLLI), a USA based organisation that strives to raise the visibility of world literature for adults and children at the local, national and international levels. She was the Chief-Editor for the 'Nepali Literature Month' held at GLLI in November 2019.
